Have you been invited to be someone’s sidekick on Bereev lately? You might be wondering what exactly is Bereev and what is your role as their sidekick? Well, wonder no more, let’s break it down for you.

What is Bereev?

Bereev is a death preparation app that helps our users create a plan which will guide their loved ones (you) when they’re no longer around. A typical death plan will include their:

  • Funeral plans and wishes
  • List of important contacts (lawyers, agents and etc)
  • Financial details (list of bank accounts, loans, investments and etc)
  • Important documents (will, insurance policies, medical records and etc)
  • Guidance on how to deal with their digital assets (email, Netflix and etc)
  • Instructions on how to care for their pet(s)
  • Messages for you and your loved ones
  • And more…

What is a sidekick?

A sidekick is someone the planner trusts that have been invited to view their plan on Bereev. The term sidekick is inspired by the superhero and sidekick dynamic, think of the planner as Batman and yourself as Robin. You’re here to back them up when they’re gone.

Why have I been invited?

That’s simple! The person who has invited you as their sidekick wants you to be able to view their plan on Bereev.

What am I supposed to do?

You’ll be able to view either certain parts or their entire plan depending on the permissions they’ve set for you. This will guide you on how to deal with their death efficiently. You’ll also be in charge of reporting their death to Bereev when their time comes (we’ll explain how in another post soon).

It’s very important that you come back to Bereev and make the death report because that’s how we’ll unlock any parts of the plan that have been locked until death. Reporting their death also means that Bereev can now send out all of the messages that they’ve left behind for their friends and family. Without your report, we won’t know if anything has happened to them.

When can I view their death plan?

This depends on the permissions set by the planner, they have the option to choose either NOW or AFTER DEATH.

Can I reject their invitation?

Sure, this is entirely up to you. If you don’t feel like you’re up for it then let the planner know so that they can look for someone else to take up the role.

How do I accept their invitation?

If you’ve been invited to be someone’s sidekick, we’ll send you an email to notify you. Click on the Accept Invitation button and we’ll guide you from there.

Do I have to sign up for my own account?

Yes, and it’s free. Once you’ve accepted their invitation, you’ll be redirected to our app where you can sign up for a free Lite account in order to access the planner’s death plan.
